AFROSCOPE
AFROSCOPE (Isaac Nana Opoku) has been practicing as a creative professional for over a decade, working as a multidisciplinary artist and designer, and as a social entrepreneur.
In his work he explores a range of themes including decolonization, oneness, information overload, and most recently the concept of deep adaptation. He engages with these topics in very experimental and speculative ways, and utilizes both digital technologies and traditional analog mediums in his process.
Community and collaboration are also core aspects of his practice: He is a part of various creative teams and cultural organizations, and also works closely with indigenous artisans across Ghana. He has also worked with brands like Apple and Adobe, and has cofounded impact organizations such as House of Stole, Cocoa360 and Small Hype.
AFROSCOPE represented Ghana at the Venice Biennale (April 2022), has shown work at 1-54 London (October 2023), at Museum Ostwall in Dortmund (December 2021), at the 21st Century Museum Kanazawa (November 2023), and in several other exhibitions as well.

Albert Nii Nortey Dowuona – alniinod
Albert lives and works in Accra, Ghana. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Art (B.F.A.) in Painting and Sculpture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi in 2010. Nii Nortey is interested in the historical narratives embedded in discarded materials. He makes use of wax prints, newspapers and lotto papers in creating his work to examine the social identity complexities around him.
Nii Nortey has featured in a number of exhibitions including YBG Eco Arts Festival and Evolution of Science Exhibition, and GhScientific, both held at the Museum Of Science And Technology, Accra in 2019. In 2019, His work ‘In Loving Memory’ featured in an article published in the Forbes Magazine: Artists and Scientists in Ghana Reflect on the Country’s Scientific Achievements by Eva Amsen.

Barbara Putz-Plecko
Barbara Putz-Plecko is a visual artist and professor at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Since 2007, she has been the vice-rector of the university. She is also the head of the Department of Art and Communication Practices and the Textile Department. One of the focal points of both departments is on contextual art practices and on artistic strategies in communities and systems. As an artist and researcher, she has collaborated with many academic and non-academic institutions and grassroots organisations, and she has acted as supervisor, project partner and coordinator of numerous art projects not only in Europe but also in Africa, Asia, Central America and the United States. Her long-term research focus is on inter-disciplinary, trans-disciplinary and trans-cultural collaborative processes and the exploration of participatory practices in the arts.

Billie McTernan
Billie McTernan is a writer and artist who experiments with literary and visual art forms. She has an MFA from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi and has published many articles and essays from her travels in West Africa. As a storyteller, she is drawn to the ways that stories are manifested, be it through the body in dance and performance, or through literature, sound and visual arts. She has been published in TSA Art Magazine, ARTnews, Artsy, Financial Times Life & Arts, Contemporary And, ARTS.BLACK and other independent artist-run platforms. She is currently working on a piece that falls somewhere between a short story and a novel.
